No. 48 ezl-80 problem with ezSerialConfig 2005-10-28

We connected the EZL-80 to our PC using a serial cable. We tried using the RS232-level serial and then made a cable to convert it to TTL-level.

We open the ezSerialConfig program and with the EZL-80 in the right mode (powered, no PCMCIA card connected) we pressed the only available button 'Read'.

This is what it prints out in a pop up box:
1. opening COM1 port (this is correct, we can use it for other things)
2. reading ezTCP's environment variables...
3. No 'respone' from ezTCP. Check serial port, cable connection, power supply, and console mode.

-- We are using the right port, the cable is connected to the EZL-80 properly, and the proper power levels are measured. We do not know what is meant by checking console mode.

Without any way to even begin setting variables within the ezSerialConfig program, we cannot even start our project. Your support is needed, thanks!
