No. 371 Re: ezl-80c TTL adaptation 2007-02-28

The RX port of EZL-80c is NOT 5V tolerant.
If you connect EZL-80c to 5V device directly, the EZL-80c might be damaged.
You have to use MAX232 or a level shifter between them.
(The ALVC164245 of TI Inc. is a level shifter.)
