No. 550 Re: EZL-200L-E 2010-03-10

Hello.

EZL-200L is a converter which performs changing data between RS232 and TCP/IP.
Thus, if you want to communicate the modem, you should reach 200L with TCP/IP (Ethernet).
When you send data to the EZL-200L, it will send the data to the modem and vice versa.
To send and receive data, you should communicate with EZL-200L by using network program. (TCP/IP socket program)
You can test that with ezConfig. The specific procedure is described in the user's manual.

For users who use only serial programs, we have been offering a utility for making virtual serial ports on a PC. The program is called ezVSP.
However, current version of ezVSP may not work properly on Windows server 2003.
Because of this, I recommend using next version or changing the serial program to the socket program.

If you have more questions, please let us know.

Have a nice day!

Then, once I have configured the EZL-200L with IP address and more, how can I communicate with the modem from Windows 2003 server? How does windows comunicate with the modem through the LAN? Is there a utility program for this? Thank you a lot, Marco.
