For sure I was too synthetic. I try to clarify a little better

I wrote a PC software for service and maintenance of embedded systems that uses serial channel to comunicate. So it will be common to have many potential COMport created in different LANsite, but only one is the current active (see the attached file). It would be nice for my PC software to have the possibility to know that the active one is the COM11, so it could connect to the embedded system without asking anything to the operator
